to me, meg garner is...
the warm hello at the other end of the telephone line when i've had a long day. well, sometimes it's a stressed hello but that's okay because we get each other.
the girl who smiled at me and asked me my name when i didn't know anyone and neither did she.
a friend who needed a ride when i had a car but no where to go.
the silly laugh i hear coming out of her bedroom. even though her door is closed and i'm listening to music, her laugh is infectious.
my companion in escaping the stress of the city - whether that means a beer at the beach, a hike at lands end, or a drive down the coast.
the beautiful heart that i've seen get broken, but i've also seen the healing hand of God transform and renew.
honesty and vulnerability - but maybe sometimes a little too tough for her own good.
the other margaret. a woman with whom i am proud to share my name.
almost french. almost.
one of the most genuinely gifted and loving teachers-in-training i have ever met.
my favorite person to borrow clothes from. she never borrows mine, though. not sure if i should be offended by that?
a woman who loves her family and friends with loyalty and perseverance.
a squeeze of my hand during church on sunday when the pastor says something that goes straight to both of our hearts - and we both know what the other one is thinking.
my favorite halloween costume.
a soul willing to live and hurt and grow as she learns how to love and be loved. that takes a strength that she doesn't even realize she has.
to me, meg garner is a strong, beautiful, unique, talented woman. i met meg when we were both 23 years old - both new to san francisco, and ready for anything. the past three years of life together have been an adventure and i wouldn't trade any of it.
meg, i wouldn't be who i am without you. your life has become knit in with mine. you are a best friend and a sister. i love you all the way through.
happy birthday.
i celebrate you today and my cup overflows.
that was perfectly defined. meg is fantastic.
